A NEW charity shop dedicated to all things bump, baby and beyond is opening in Elland.
Overgate’s Little Stars will be selling pre-loved items for pregnancy and children from birth to seven to raise funds for Overgate Hospice.
There will also be a selection of new goods ideal for baby shower presents.
As well as providing the chance to pick up a bargain, the new shop will be somewhere for parents to donate grown-out-of clothes, toys, prams and equipment.
Laura Golding, Director of Income Generation at Overgate Hospice, said: “This is the first shop of its kind for the hospice but we are hoping if it is successful we will open more.
“Our plan to raise more money for the hospice is to open more shops and the retail team had mentioned previously that a children’s shop could be successful.
“When I had my little boy last year and saw all the mum and baby markets and the rate he was growing out of his clothes, I thought it was a great idea.
“So when I returned from maternity leave in June with my Head of Retail Tracey, we started looking for a property.”
The new shop, at 54a Southgate in Elland, opens on Saturday, December 2 at 11am.
It will then be open Monday to Saturday, 9am until 4.30pm and there is a dedicated Facebook page so people can see some of the items that are available – www.facebook.com/OvergateLittleStars.
Items can be donated at any of the hospice’s shops around Calderdale or for large amounts that need collecting call 01422 387121.
